Chiropractic can help with a wide range of issues. It’s not just about helping people overcome back pain or neck pain. There are far more uses for chiropractic treatment.
Take for example sciatica. This can be an extremely infuriating problem to have to suffer from. The term sciatica is derived from the sciatic nerve. If you were to feel pain in the sciatic nerve, you would notice it travelling down from the buttock, down into the lower leg. This problem tends to occur a little late on in life, anywhere from your thirties through to your fifties.
Sciatica describes persistent pain felt along the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back, down through the buttock, and into the lower leg. The sciatic nerve is the longest and widest nerve in the body, running from the lower back through the buttocks and down the back of each leg. It controls the muscles of the lower leg and provides sensation to the thighs, legs, and the soles of the feet.
Although sciatica is a relatively common form of low-back and leg pain, the true meaning of the term is often misunderstood. Sciatica is actually a set of symptoms—not a diagnosis for what is irritating the nerve root and causing the pain.
Sciatica occurs most frequently in people between the ages of 30 and 50 years old. Most often, it tends to develop as a result of general wear and tear on the structures of the lower spine, not as a result of injury.

How can Chiropractic help me?
Chiropractors use their hands to restore normal movement of restricted joints of the spine and limbs. Incorrect joint movement leads to increased strain resulting in injury to the joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves and this will inevitably lead to pain.
By restoring normal movement to your joints you remove the strain on ligaments, relieve muscle spasm, improve how the spinal discs function and release nerves that may be ‘trapped’. ‘Trapped’ nerves not only cause pain locally, but can also refer it from the neck to the arm and shoulder or from the back to the buttock and legs.
Poor joint movement can lead to early ‘wear and tear’ and osteoarthritis.
Regular chiropractic check-up appointments will help to maintain your health.
